Owner of the workshop, Rachel Biestman has just under two decades of experience in hair and makeup. Although for the majority of her career Rachel specialized in event hair and makeup, over Covid she was inspired to begin a new chapter in cutting and coloring. Her artistry has been featured digitally and in print, and recently she was awarded one of the top 10 spots in Davines Talent Greenhouse Competition! She will spend the next 6 months working with a master mentor to create a hair concept to compete on stage in Berlin, Germany in October 2024.
Rachel is a skilled cutter and colorist, specializing in modern looks such as bobs, pixies, and layered haircuts. She loves creative color techniques, especially creating sustainable looks that grow out beautifully between appointments.
Rachel also enjoys session styling with her husband Patrick in their photography studio, implementing innovative and experimental techniques for both editorial and commercial looks.

Katie Koch, a veteran hairstylist of 15 years is an absolute master of the beveled bob! Katie creates trust with her clients by providing professional, quality services that are always punctual and finished with precision. Katie has a classic approach to hairdressing, specializing in services that bring many of her clients back every 4-6 weeks.
A true mentor, Katie has trained many junior stylists to become excellent hairdressers. Her daughter Ashley is one such mentee and actually works in the salon with her! Together their entrepreneurial drive will lead them to salon ownership in a few short months, but we are grateful they find their current home at Darling Hair Workshop and Photo Studio.

Ashley Taylor is attracting attention throughout the CSRA for her work in extensions, adding volume and length to her client's hair while keeping their hair health in the front of her mind. She is an experienced colorist, with an emphasis on balayage, creating ribbons of seamless color throughout the hair.
An experience with Ashley is marked by her enthusiastic personality and contagious laughter. Although she will be joining Katie in their own salon adventure in a few short months, we love having her in the studio.
